In the 4 years since my
Daddy went to be where there are no hospital rooms, life without him has been
hard. I thought the bad times would never end. After Daddy died, his nephew, more
like a son, Wayne, passed away. Then my ex-husband, who was also like a son,
too, died. It would have been so hard for Daddy to have seen their suffering.
Daddy would, however, been so very proud of the way his "Holly Beth" (my
daughter) took care of her Daddy.
December 29, 2010, a man came
back into my life - Mr. Thomas Rylee! I had known him from my first marriage,
but never considered dating him, then 7 years later, there he is! I
didn't think I would ever be given the opportunity to be know a
Christian man, me attending church with him and someone who didn't care if
I was unemployed, home in foreclosure, had panic attacks or was
complusive, implusive, gained weight - He only loved me for me!
Last July, my mother retired from being a caregiver. She spent months working on photo albums. It was so depressing and I never looked at any of it. Then one day she convinced me to look at a little book. In it would be the best photo of Daddy but it was one I had never seen or didn't remember. Sitting in the trunk of my ex-husband's 1964 Plymouth Fury at our church's car show, was MY DADDY and the man sitting beside him was THOMAS! I couldn't believe it. I kept saying, "It's a sign! It's a sign!" Well, January 1, 2012 we were married!

Two weeks before Daddy died,
he was in the hospital fussing to go home and watch the Bud Shootout!
Hospice told us to take him home because he didn't need them!lol February 23,
2008, Daddy left his suffering here and went to be where he is probably talking
racing now with Wayne and Rusty! Race season is about to begin. Thomas not
being a race fan, I haven't seen a race on TV since Richmond, 2010, but I want
to keep up with it this year.

Daddy's motto was, "It
ain't what you've got, it's what you take care of." I wish he had taken
better care of himself!
